OUR PROGRAMS
Pushing Ahead hosts a variety of skateboarding programs through partnerships with Salt Lake City’s youth advocate organizations such as The Boys and Girls Club, YouthCity, and the University of Utah’s Hartland Center.
Through skating, youth learn to push their limits, build self-confidence, and respect themselves and one another.
Programs include: Skateboarding lessons, group research projects, art activities, and skateboard building workshops.
Each participant leaves with a customized skateboard they built themselves using donated parts from the program.
OUR IMPACT
From the very first push, to the first landed trick, skateboarding is a challenge.
Pushing through challenges teaches students the importance of persistence and strength to succeed in skateboarding and in life.
Through skating, youth in our programs learn what they are capable of both on and off the board. By taking risks and pushing their limits, they grow to respect themselves and one another.
